Villacís Chapel

Visit the Villacís Chapel, it is a jewel of 17th-century Quito baroque architecture, which shines not only for its artistic structure but also for the evident purpose of its author, Commissioner Francisco de Villacís, of wanting to perpetuate itself in time with the construction of this Chapel and mortuary vault for him and his heirs. During the visit you can enter the ossuary or catacomb of the Villacis family.

San Francisco Churh chorus

We will go up to the Church Choir, one of the most mystical and relaxed places in the Franciscan Convent of Quito. Inside, the tubular organ where the anthem to Quito was composed stands out, and it’s lavish Mudejar-style coffered ceiling in which you can observe the universe on the ceiling.

Towers

Enjoy the best view from the towers of San Francisco, the current towers were inaugurated in 1893. On their pinnacles there are two images that belong to two important saints for the Franciscan community of Quito. In the north tower is Saint Francis of Assisi, patron of the Order; in the south tower, San Pablo, patron of the Franciscans of this Convent of Quito. From here you have a 360-degree view of the city of Quito, we invite you to take the best photographs.
